About White River Anglers

Joe Nothum and John Hill still compete on Bull Shoals and Table Rock, the same water they guide.

White River Anglers started by two passionate fisherman who realized that working as a team was was better than as individuals.

Today, White River Anglers is backed by a dozen sponsors and run by two guides who still compete on the water they take you out on. We've never lost sight of what made that first season work: sharp lake knowledge, straight talk, zero wasted time.

Every trip is designed to put you on fish, not just out on the water.

Joe & John

Our Values & BEliefs

1

Tournament Skill on every Trip

Joe and John still fish competitively, and they guide the same way they compete. If a spot isn't producing, they move. If the fish aren't hitting one bait, they switch. You'll spend your day actually fishing, and you'll learn why each call gets made, whether it's your first time holding a rod or your hundredth trip.

2

Real Local Knowledge

We only guide Bull Shoals and Table Rock. That focus means knowing where the fish go as the seasons change, how weather shifts the bite, and which spots are worth your time on any given week. Less time driving the boat around searching, more time with a line in the water.

3

Honest Expactations

Every week, Joe and John post a Fishing Report with real conditions on both lakes: water temperature, lake levels, and what's biting. Good weeks and slow weeks both get posted. It's the best place to check before you book, so you know what to expect and can pick the right time for your trip. No guide can promise fish, and we won't pretend otherwise.

4

One standard for every guide

As our company grows and adds guides, every one of them is held to the same standard as Joe and John. That means real experience on these lakes, the same effort on every trip, and the same straightforward booking and pricing. Whoever's available on the calendar, you're getting a guide worth booking.

Our Guides

Joe Nothum

Founder and Guide

Joe's fished tournament trails for over a decade, most of it on Bull Shoals and Table Rock. He's known for finding fish in water other anglers write off, timber, deep bluff ends, structure that takes years to actually learn. On a trip with Joe, expect a lot of moving and a lot of confidence about exactly where the fish are.

John Hill

Founder and Guide

John competed against Joe on the tournament trail for years before they teamed up. He guides with an emphasis on technique, the why behind a bait choice, not just the where. Patient with beginners, sharp with anyone who already knows their way around a rod.
